Crossover

Each participant receives both treatments in turn, in a set order.

What it means

In a crossover study, participants take one treatment for a period, then switch to the other. Each person acts as their own comparison.

Why it matters if you take part

You would be likely to receive every treatment being studied at some point, rather than only one. There is usually a gap between them.
