Everyone is analysed in the group they were assigned to, even if they stopped.

What it means
Under intention-to-treat analysis, results are counted according to the group a participant was originally assigned to, regardless of whether they completed the treatment.
Why it matters if you take part
It stops results from looking better simply because people who did poorly dropped out. It generally gives a more conservative, more realistic picture.
