A "Biological" intervention is a product derived from living organisms rather than made purely by chemistry: for example antibodies, vaccines, blood products, or cell and gene therapies. Trials often list them alongside drugs.
Why it matters if you take part
Biologicals are commonly given by injection or infusion, and their study designs and monitoring can differ from a tablet. Knowing the type helps you read the rest of the record with the right expectations.
