A study where participants are given something to see what happens.
What it means
In an interventional study, the research team assigns participants to receive a treatment, device, or procedure according to the protocol.
Why it matters if you take part
This is what most people mean by "clinical trial". It differs from an observational study, where nothing is assigned.
