Early Phase 1
A very small, very early study of how the body handles a treatment.
What it means
Early Phase 1 studies (sometimes called Phase 0) give very small amounts to a small number of people, to observe how the body processes the treatment before fuller testing begins.
Why it matters if you take part
These are exploratory studies. They are not designed to treat the condition, and the amounts given are usually too small to have a therapeutic effect.
